You could make a nice little 4" cake or even an 1/8 sheet cake. That would be pretty small.
As for the pricing, let's see Wallymart sells their 4" cakes for 3 bucks and the 1/8 sheet ones for 8. 9 if it's filled. So you could defiitely be higher than that and still be good.
I dunno, maybe the 4" for 5-8 bucks depending on difficulty and the 1/8 sheet for 10-15. Just a ballpark figure.

The Wilton 2 course comes with a small oval pan. I think that would be nice to use.

I would think you could just make a 6 inch and charge whatever you charge for that "tier". I always charge too little, so whatever the going rate for that size should do.

I make little 4 inch gift cakes for friends and customers for their birthdays. Very little decoration. If they want a decorated cake I would go with a 6 inch at least. More surface to work with. I would start at $15 for a base and go from there.

I also agree with a 6 inch and charge what you usually do for it. Then they could have a slice for later. thumbs_up.gif

You can bake a small sheet cake, like an 8" square, and cut two 4" circles out of it, freeze them to avoid a lot of crumbs, then fill, stack, ice and decorate.

I would have to agree with a $10-15 price range, depending upon the decoration.

I know what you mean, you get that picture in your head and want to apply it to that cake!
