Hi everyone,
I'm going to try out making my first quill cake and I wanted to know how to make spirals that I can have sticking out of the cake. I tried it before wrapping a piece of fondant around foil and I don't know if I didn't let it dry long enough or what, but it just cracked apart and I couldn't get it off. Thanks for your help!

Soda Straws! you can get them in various sizes from the tiny 'coffee stir' kind to the jumbos. I have also used wooden dowel sticks but covered them with plastic wrap and they worked just fine.
