I know exactly what you are talking about! I love kids, but I love them more when they go home to their parents after I watched them for a few hours. My DH was never around kids and really dislikes all children, but yet he wanted them icon_confused.gif I NEVER did want to have kids, even though I like them, just not for me. I would always tell people "These are not birthing hips." Besides, I was told I couldn't have children by a lot of doctors and DH was told his chances would be very low. Imagine my shock when I found out I was pregnant and 11 weeks along. I wasn't happy but thought God knows more than I do and I must be meant to have this baby. That said I didn't bond instantly to my baby girl, it took me 3 weeks really. My little miracle baby was soon followed by 3 more little miracles. I had 4 kids in exactly 5 years! Doctors have no idea why I keep getting pregnant and defying the odds. (I was even on birth control with one of them.) But here I am a stressed out mom, going to school full time and pulling my hair out some days. However, I wouldn't change it for all of the money in the world. I love them with every fiber of my being and can't imagine my life without them. I never knew true love until I had my kids. I know that sounds horrible to say but it's true. I almost lost one son at 3 to illness and last year my 2 girls had anaphalactic (sp?) reactions and both almost died in my arms. Being a parent is not easy. In fact it's no picnic at all, but you get out soooo much more than you put in just with a simple smile or an "I love you mommy", even a drooly cookie they are trying to share will make your insides all warm and fuzzy.
Having kids was right for me, it was my destiny even if I didn't want it. I'm not telling this to change your mind. You have to do what's right for you, but sometimes the best things in life are not planned. Besides, no need to rush. Take your time however long it may be and go from there if you want too.

Sometimes when there isn't a reply from the original poster, I wonder if they are still reading the answers to their post.... so I just want to let you all know that I am reading them! And I really appreciate the responses. It's definitely a good discussion we've got going here!
