I love the pecan carmel fudge sundae at our neighborhood Braums. has anyone ever used carmel or fudge as a fillling in a cake? do you think the c. or f. would soak into the cake?

I have used the one in a jar that is very thick not the squeeze bottles. I did have to use a very thin layer because it was soaking into the cake, but you can spread a thin layer of buttercream on the cake and top with the fudge or caramel and it won't soak in as much. HTH

I've used the dulce de leche......(where you simmer a can of sweetened condensed milk for 3 hrs. and it turns into a thick and delicious caramel) in a cake for a filling and it did soak into the cake after a day.....was totally delicious though lol....anyhow...now I spread a thin layer of buttercream on both layers of cake and that prevents the filling from soaking in.
