Has anyone done the Team Logos in fondant and the rest of the cake in buttercream? I tried doing a buttercream transfer and it didn't come out too well. So I figured I could do the team logo in fondant and just stick it on the buttercream frosted helmet? Anyone ever done that?

I don't know why that wouldn't work - especially if you got your fondant thin enough. Is it too late in the game to go get an edible image of the logo? You might try to put a bunch of them on the page so that you will have extras for another time (that way you are only paying $8.00 for a bunch of them instead of just one - or maybe put some other things you plan on doing later on the same page). If it is too late for that, you might try pinpricking the design onto your cake if you don't have a kopykake projector.

Good Luck!

Absolutlely! As kerririchards said, you need to roll your fondant very thin. Use a pasta machine, if you can. Glue it on with buttercream or gum glue. I just did this technique yesterday.

You could also trace the logo onto waxed paper with p.gel to get the outline, then go over it with ur bc.

You can absolutely put the teams logo done in fondant on a buttercream covered helmet cake. If you look in my pictures, i did a practice helmet cake - Dallas Cowboys - and the stripes and logo were done in fondant.
