I made and used the candy clay recipe on this site today. I just love it. It sets up pretty fast, but yet you can smash it down again if you hate your final scupture! I didn't do anything fantastic like model a little fairy or baby, but I did use flower cut outs and made a little cell phone for my daughter's cake. It is easy to color, write on and mold.

I do have a question for anyone who has ever used it. Do you think you could use chocolate chips in place of the Wilton's candy chocolates?

My next project will be to attempt modeling a dog, cat, bear, a person, you name it and I will try it. If it doesn't turn out I guess I will just eat it icon_lol.gif !

I have used chocolate chips with no problems!!!! Check out clay modeling books too.......they're great at teaching how to construct people, animals and so forth!!

Yes, and they taste great too.

I used to wrap my cakes with candy clay like these b4 I got into Fondant.
I still use Candy Clay to wrap my cakes, but depends on my mood. White one here was made by Chiffonos. Blue one made by Prettycake w/c is here in the gallery.
