Ok another dilema was the cake,
Do I make a cake to match the invitations?
Make a whimsical cake? (Only want to do to try it but won't do it for no one else for free and not good enough to charge this is a good excuse to do it)
Or make a giant cupcake
NOTE PICTURES OF CAKE ARE NOT MINE ONLY BORROWING AS EXAMPLE TO HELP MY POLL
DD loves all three ideas
Also posted my dd's party invitation picture
Also want to say the pictures I borrowed are very talented CC'ers love these cakes!!!
I would do a Whimsical cake matching the pink line and yellow dot desing of the invitations!! Very cute invites, BTW!
I know I'm not supposed to say the Lord's name in vain but my first words when I read your reply first I looked at the invitation to see what you were taling about and I went" OH My God!!!!!!!
You are a genious!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much I feel like I just wasted all this time!!!
I can always do the cupcake for another occasion not as difficult as a whimsical cake. I'm just not good at ideas and by looking at my photos you can see I'm pretty bad at copying them too LOL
Lookig at the invitation I would make two 8" cakes, two layers each, (or larger depending on the size of the party) and stack them on top of each other, then decorate like the invitation.

And I've been there also, sometimes I'm just sitting looking at a sketch when my DH from behind just says, "oh, you should do this and that" he comes up the best ideas when my mind is completly blocked! I'm glad I could help and hope to see pics soon! ![]()
I agree, a whimsical cake matching the invitation would be super cute!
I'm so happy right now and it would a total surprise for my daughter now her bday party is January 27th I will post the picture that same evening did I mention is a cake decorating party?? all the girl will be decorating their 6" little cakes and taking them home
Thank you I started a thread on the party back in August and everyone put in their ideas and a lot of ladies have these kind of parties lately, I will post my cake picture and I wil take email addresses for anyone who wishes to see my pictures I am so excited about it lately when I go to bed is all I think about! I wake up thinking about this cake
My vote is for the whimsical cake .. it's just adorable!!
I don't know if you have it or not but the wilton 2006 or 2007 idea book has a cake layout that is the shape of a cake and it looks alot like the cake on the invitation. Just looked and it is in the 2006 yearbook that wiltons puts out every year. If you could get your hands on one I would recommend to look at it. Good luck!!

How cool, a party where little girls will decorate their own cake, maybe they should take it home and share it with their families so YOUR cake will be the center of attention! I would've LOVED a party like that while growing up!
Can you post a link to the thread?
And I hear you with the whole excitement thing, I love planning birthday parties! Speacially knowing the smile it will put in our childs face! Would love to see pics of the cake and the girls cakes as well! ![]()

Wow cakedecor, can't wait to see the pictures of your finished cake! For flames I saw on a Wilton book that they used fondant, the little leaf cut-outs, one med. yellow and one small orange glued together. Oh and you know what would be cute too, try to find a white cake stand, so it looks just like the one on your invite!! Thanks for the link to the thread!
I just got one just like that one on clearance at Target for $6.50 and it's more like off white or ivory but won't matter cause nothing on this cake is white!!! I'm excited too I will post the picture back on this thread so if ya'll see it you know what it is
OK Practiced the tilted cake like in the whimsical bakehouse, not slanted enough and didn't care for smooth icing or decoration we just ate this at home used some french vanilla cake mix with buttercream dream and cookies and cream for filling maybe next time I should do more icing and make sure it is evenly slanted so there is no bump on top of the cake please critic my cake, this is only a practice cake i will still decorate my dd's cake like the invitation
