i ment to do this before the holidays and it totally skipped my mind.
My name is Amy, I'm 32 (almost 33) married 10 years this past July and the mom of 2 miracles. Jacob is 8 and Evelyn is 4. Right now I own a home day care (6 years) and finally went back to school this past summer for my bacholers degree, i'm hoping to be done this summer. I have been decorating cakes since I was 10 years old when my mom let me decorate my own birthday cake, I seem to have gotten addicted then and now I don't want to get help for my addiction lol My mom decorated cakes for 40 years and I have since "inherited" all her stuff and she still helps me on occasion. My husband Mike is very very supportive of this too which is awesome. He gets into to a lot and has actually come up with a lot of ideas that I've used on my cakes.
My goal after I am done with school is to open my own storefront. We live in a little bitty town of 300, the next town over is only 7 miles from us and has no bakery other then at the grocery store and walmart. Right now I get most of my business from friends, relatives and co workers of Mike but I have started talking to the few caterers and flower shops and they are very interested in passing out my name since there are not many decoraters around the area.
It has been fun reading everyone's posts, I have learned so much just from the short time I've been a member here. You are all so very talented and each and every one of you has a gift that I hope brings you joy.
