I have my daughter's birthday party on Tuesday the 9th and I am not sure how to do her cake. She wants a princess cake but I don't want to do the molded pans and star tip the whole cake. I have seen people get a tiera and put it on top of the cake. Alot of those cakes have a quilted impression but I don't have a mat (I wish I did) so any ideas. I think that I will get a tiera and then where to go from there. I would really appreciate any ideas and I know that my daughter would also. Thanks guys!!

Thanks get frosted. You do have some good cake ideas. Noticed that you are from Orangeville. I am actually originally from Welland, by Niagara Falls. Also, Happy Birthday early, a week before my own birthday. Again thanks alot!!

Or perhaps consider doing a princess castle?

I used a diamond cookie cutter to make the quilted pattern on my Christmas wedding cake - worked out pretty good. I love the tiara idea - castles are overrated LOL!

I did a princess theme for a young girl's birthday. I did individual doll cakes and put a fondant tiara on each one. Each doll had a different colored dress and each was decorated differently. I used the mini wonder mold pan and doll picks. The girls loved them. There were two boys at the party so I made individual cakes for them. One was a mini football helmet made with the mini wonder mold and the other was a horse busting out of a mini square cake.

I made a castle for a 7 yr old 'princess' girl. You can see it in my gallery. It turned out cute, just wish I didn't have to drive it anywhere... had some issues. Before I did the castle cake, I had seen a picture... probably on CC of a similar castle cake with a tiara on top of the top layer. It was really cute.
