Yes, it's the same size. Very expensive stuff!

I love the decorations on the cakes, they are truly an inspiration. Does anyone know what they are made out of, if they are royal icing, color flow, thinly rolled out fondant? Thanks in advance.

They are chocolate transfers: outlined with dark chocolate and filled in with colored chocolate (or candy melts).

Thanks!
Carleen

I think you could achieve the same effect using gold HIGHLIGHTER dust. I just uploaded several cake pictures to my gallery where I used this dust. See "Black and Gold Whimsy", Marriott Courtyard", "Shamrock", "Mardi Gras".

Here is my finished cake. carleen, thank you so much for your help and inspiration...I ended up painting with food coloring on a mix of chocolate and vanilla fondant, then spraying with super pearl dust. the spray really evened the little streaks from painting. I changed the design from my original idea because I was having a hard time with the patches...so now that I look at our photos, it seems like I took too much inspiration from yours, however, theres no competition, yours is totally gorgeous. I wish that I would have used a smaller round tip for the swirls....Its a bit sloppy (2 am icon_confused.gif )however, my friend loved it and I am somewhat pleased that I was able to do it freehand rather than with a stencil. Another learning experiece! Thanks again!

I just bought some 24 karat gold non-toxic dust from Geraldine Randlesome (www.creativecutters.com) for $7.95 a pot at the MD Cake show a few weeks ago. I ordered some more online from her site. It's the cheapest price I've found so far.
