I took the Wilton I class last month at our local Michael's store. They will start the Wilton II class next week. My daughter would like to go with me. Does anyone know if they allow you to take the II class without taking the I class?

I am not sure - I would give the instructor a call. I know there is alot of flowers done in Wilton II. My guess is she will need some background if she is to be successful, but give the instructor a call. Maybe you could go thru the course I book with her over the next couple of weekends.

You didn't mention your daughters age but I believe you have to be at the very least 16 years old.

there was a young girl in my wilton 1 class but she didnt move onto the other classes, but I really think she could have done them with no problem, and I wouldnt guess her to have been more then 11 or 12 ...

There is no requirement (other than the new course coming out) that you have to have Course I first. I always advise it because so many "basics" are taught in that course. If your daughter has the basic skills, she will be fine.

It is also up to the instructor as to how young a child they will allow. I have no problems with the younger crowd as long as they listen and are respectful to me. Some of them try really hard to do well. I don't like to discourage them!

Ask if you can have the instructors number or leave a message for her to call you and discuss it with her. Good luck!

I should have said......my daughter is 28 - so age is no problem. I thought I would work with her on the class I techniques before the class. I can't reach the teacher until tomorrow - I knew you guys would know the answer! I love this site - everyone is so helpful AND knowledgable!
