Ok I have been working on this cake for two days now.The nurse at a place I work is retiring after 30 some years. And since I'm known there as a cake geek(lol)They asked me to do the cake. This was the outcome,I fill like there is something missing, but can't put my finger on it(so to speak).Considering that there is some great cake decorators here on CC I figured I'd ask for your opinion. Is there something missing or am I starting to halucinate. Please help. icon_confused.gif

Definitely nothing missing. Be careful not to fall in the trap of over decorating.

LEIJLA: I don't know what could be missing except for your own show on Food Network! icon_lol.gif This cake is simply awe-inspiring work. I'm hoping one day I'll be able to do a bear that well. And your nursing tools....well...they're just perfect! They look so real!

Sometimes we work so long on something that we begin to think we need "more," when in fact---it's perfect! And this certainly is!

Could you tell me how you did the hat? I think that's cute, too!

Thank you for sharing this piece of inspiration.

First of all I should say that this is a really cute cake. Listen to your gut when you feel like something is missing. That being said, I think you may need some outline of the arms and legs, or at least the arms.

Could his left arm come over the reflex tool thing? Does that make any sense....it would give him a little more dimension and the arms may show up better. I can't see a definite outline of the arms, but that could just be the picture.

I think he looks adorable and the tools are AMAZING!!! Good job!
