I am looking for some textured rolling pins that when you roll then the pattern in set INTO the fondant. I looked at sugarcraft and cakesbysam but theirs are all the kind that the pattern is lifted up in the fondant. Does anyone know where I can get this kind that the pattern is inset? I know wilton has one but I wanted something different.

TIA

before they made these 'textured' rolling pins, we would find pretty buttons or 'things' and press them into the fondant.

so you can basically 'make your own'.

I know it's not the answer you were looking for, but it gives you an alternative.

I totally agree with RisqueBusiness, experiment before you buy, those rolling pins are expensive and will have one design and no other use. You might want to look at the pins that have sleeves with the designs instead of the "fixed" design, too.

I bought some scrapbooking stamps and thought I could use those but I was hoping to find something that was large so I could do a whole pattern on the fondant before I put it on the cake. Plus the stamps were expensive

It has been suggested to use a Dremel and wooden dowel, and etch the design in. I haven't done it yet, but may be a possibility for you.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'll try to find some stuff to make my own impressions. I'll definately try the dremel idea I do have a drill so I can experiment with that.
