Hello everyone! I'm new to the forums and just wanted to introduce myself. I'm dinkadoo (Lisa) from Washington State. My background is in education (I was an elementary teacher for 9 years) but now since marrying and moving across the country (originally from Ohio) my main interest is in baking and cakes. I'm happy to be here and am looking forward to becoming involved in the forums..both by asking and answering! I've posted a few pics, I'll do more later but just wanted to say hello and am happy to have found this site!

hello, and welcome! i just looked at your pink and white wedding cake and it is beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what did you make the bow on the top out of? it looks like pulled suger or something. wow!

The bow on top of the pink and white cake is made of gumpaste and painted with pearl dust and then outlined with a paintbrush on the edges using pink tinted pearl dust. Yes, it was time consuming, but worth it.

Hi. I'm new here too (second day). You've done some spectacular cakes! Gum paste flowers are one of the next things on my list of things I'd like to learn to do as well.
