Hi I searched the galleries but only came up with one cake that showed the claddagh design on a cake. I know what it looks like but was wondering if anyone had suggestions for how I should put it on a cake. Gel transfer? Have never done that before...... Also shamrock shaped cake... small heart pans?

I would think for that design you would have a round or rectangle cake and then do the design on it. Gel would make the jewel look really nice or even get a plastic jewel and top it on there. Or just go with celtic designs which may be easier.

shamrock: three or FOUR hearts points touching.

claddagh:

could also do pin prick method -- layer stencil on top and poke holes along line.

or could create as FBCT or chocolate transfer and lay on the cake.

I think a design that could be highlighted with some rich luster colors would be great!

Zamode do you mean the lustre dust that is diluted with alcohol/extract and painted on.... like sugarcraft sells? Are you saying if I use a claddagh candy mold I should paint it with lustre dust or are you talking about another method of embellishing?

Why a St. Patty's Day cake but of course. Got some claddagh medallions and shamrocks. Plan on fondant with ruffle with some green on it. I'm a newbie though so I have high thoughts....
