This is perfect!!! What an excellent job! I have yet to try a FBT. I'm kind of scared to try it for fear that I'll just completely mess it up. We are not a cake eating family so doing a practice cake would just go to waste.

Thanks for all the kind words.

Here's the recipe for the dream whip icing. I tried to submit the recipe last night but it didn't work, I'll try again:

"DREAMY CREAM ICING"
2 T Dream Whip powder
1/2 C Hot Water + 1-2 t.
1/2 t. salt
1.5 C shortening
2 t. Vanilla
1T flour
2 lb conf. sugar

Mix the first three ingredients, set aside to dissolve. Cream the shortening and vanilla, then add in the dream whip mixture. Blend until smooth. Add the flour and sugar in a little at a time. When combined well, scrape the bowl down and continue mixing on medium-low for 1-2 more minutes. (Use the paddle attachment for this icing.)

This icing makes all decorations well, except roses. For frosting the cake, thin down by 2t of water per cup.

CakeMommy, you don't need a cake to practice FBT. You can just flip it onto an upside down cake pan or anything, really! Try it, don't be afraid! If you can color, you can do FBT. I was skeptical at first too, but now I'm a convert! icon_smile.gif

Again, brilliant job!

Thanks for sharing your DREAMY CREAM ICING!
By the way, what is Dream Whip Powder? Is there any other substitute...because I've never come across this.

I'd also like to know, for the FBCT receipe that you used, can it keep in the freezer and for how long?

Thanks!

Dream Whip Powder is a powdered whipped cream mix. It can be found in the pudding section of your grocery store.

It is about 2.39 for a two pouch box (about 8 Tbsp), which is kind of pricey. I've also wondered if there is a substitute that can be bought in bulk. If I find out, I'll let you know...

I've never tried freezing the FBCT recipe before using it on the transfer, but I don't see why not. Obviously, it freezes well, LOL!
