I just made a batch of this frosting. Well, it makes a boat load of frosting! icon_lol.gif Way more than I need for the cake I'm making now. Does anyone have experience with freezing this frosting? Just wondering how it thaws, more than how it freezes. icon_wink.gif
This is very yummy frosting by the way!

You can freeze icing, I think usually for 2-3 months. My experience though is that it starts to taste a little funny after awhile.

I have frozen icing before but was just wondering how this particualr icing would thaw being cream cheese and all. I have frozen cream cheese and it didn't thaw too well. icon_confused.gif

I would like to know this too because I love this recipe and usually only make 1/2 of it now that I know how much it makes. icon_lol.gif But it would be nice to get the mess over with all at once and freeze the leftover for a later date.

Good idea, now that I know too. When I was reading the ingredients I thought it would make the typical amount. (Good thing I didn't double it like I usually do to insure I don't run out in the middle of decorating! icon_surprised.gif )Half way through adding the sugar, I had to switch to a bigger bowl. lol I thought, holy cow! this is a lot of frosting. LOL I have quite a bit left so I guess I will be experimenting. If no one has an answer for us, I'll post back with my results. icon_smile.gif

Sorry, icon_redface.gif I meant it thaws just fine! If it's Denise2434's, I have made that one and have frozen it.

This is one of my favorite recipes! I always make some quick chocolate cupcakes and swirl some icing on top and take them to work. They are always so happy to see them!

Glad to hear that it thaws well. I am still nervous about freezing it, though. I've never frozen cream cheese . . . . although I have five things of it in my fridge right now that I'd like to freeze!

Cool, thanks.

I actually think I might start and use this instead of buttercream. I'm not a fan of buttercream and even though the Buttercream Dream is quite good, I like this better. Of course if I make a cake for someone who specifically wants buttercream, I will use it but for my "whatever" cakes, I'm really liking this frosting. thumbs_up.gif
