I've been looking for a recipe that I love. I've tried Sylvia Weinstock's, Toba's, Ultimate Butter Cake from baking911 and David's (which fell). I don't like a yellow cake to taste like pound cake, which I think Sylvia's does. It's not that I don't like pound cake, I just don't want a layer cake to taste like it. I liked the flavor of David's (I think) if I can get it to not fall and have a better texture. Any other suggestions to try?

Oh yum! I'm going to try this one with the orange filling it has listed with it. In fact I'm going to give it a go tomorrow. I have some fresh oranges just picked from the backyard and wasn't sure what to do with them. Now I know

the butter doesnt make it dense like pound cake? last time i made a butter cake it was too dense, but this one with the orange just sounds too good. cant wait to try it. maybe my problem last time was that i didnt sift. now i can, i bought myself a sifter!
