These cakes/cupcakes are unbelievable! How does she do all those flowers? Does she pipe them directly on the cake? They are just amazing! I'd love to be able to do this at least 1/4 as good!
Yes, it is still there. I was looking for a copy of the Magnolia book, and saw it listed as an alternate choice.

Here's a link to another thread on the Cupcake Cafe. http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-decorating-ftopicp-510288-.html#510288
For those wondering, the Cupcake Cafe cookbook has been out of print for some time. I have it and had Ann Warren sign it last year in NYC. She's a gem!! She owns the rights to it and it may go back into publication, but there are no definite plans at this time. I've had many ask me in PM, so I'll share it here, if you go to Ebay and find the lady named CakeGenie, she is a retired bakery cake decorator who has three DVDs out on how to pipe buttercream flowers onto cakes. Even if you are an experienced decorator, get the "Getting Started" video too -- she has much info in that. She is the closest thing I've ever seen to how to answer "how do they do the piping on the cupcakes at the cupcake cafe?" Hope that helps some! ![]()
Does anyone know how they put the base rosting on? The rest is cute, but that base frosting - smooth and even like a cake - is awesome!
Yes, I saw her demonstrating her piping on Martha's show some years ago -- she crumb coats, puts in the frig and then puts another coat on top. She said that's the trick to her smooth frosting.
