i just spent a few hours looking at the cookie gallery and oh my gosh all of you who posted cookies should be very proud of yourselves those were all BEAUTIFUL cookies
i just have one question i was wondering when it says MMF is that marshmallow fondant and if so how do you apply it to the cookies, with roaly icing or do you just put it on? can someone please help ![]()
I made my christmas cookies this year with MMF (yes Marshmallow fondant) and it is so easy. You don't need to use anything to attach it to the cookies just do it as soon as they come out of the oven. I lay it on while they are still on the cookie sheet and then transfer them to the cooling racks. the heat from the cookies adheres your MMF. They taste yummy too! I used royal icing to add accents when they were cooled.

I apply fondant by spraying my cookie with a fine mist, then laying the fondant on top. Since the cookie is often a little larger than the fondant cut-out, I then roll the fondant to the edges. Depending on the look you like, either way works great. (I also know people who bursh on piping gel and then apply the fondant. That works, but I feel it's just an unnecessary expense.
Cakedrayzie yep all you have to do it cut it and apply. I use the NFSC recipe and the cookies spread just enough during baking that you can use the same cookie cutter to cut your MMF. Fairytale has good tips too - you can you a fine water mist to adhere the fondant as well if you have to pre-make your cookies. Once the cookies are cooled you can stack and store them just like regular cookies. ![]()

how does the MMF fondant taste on the cookies? Do you think you could use other brands of fondant or is the taste too gross?
Also, does the fondant stay moist or does it dry out on the cookies?
I have seen little flowers and things done in fondant but I never knew you could use it to look like the flood icing...fantastic!!

I tried this with just a few cookies and leftover, old fondant. It was delicious.
You guys must have a ton of counter space to work on! I'm trying to figure out how I can roll out all of that MMF and cut it into shapes, plus roll out all of my cookie dough! Maybe I'll have to put all of the leaves in my kitchen table and work on that.
If I can't get it all done at once, should I bake the cookies first, or cut out the fondant first?
I was skeptical
of the taste at first myself but I was pleasantly suprised
. I really like it. It does not get hard either is stays nice and soft - though I dont think I have had cookies lasting that long!! I have not tried any other types of fondant but I assume is it taste good on a cake it would taste good on cookes!
Kelrak I have the smallest kitchen ever!!! I have basically 2 small sections of counter top I use one for rolling the dough and one for rolling the MMF. Then I have to cool on the kitchen table!!! Crazy I know for those of us with limited space ![]()
