Icing Image On Chocolate Buttercream Icing

Has anyone done an icing image on a chocolate buttercream icing. I have to do a backyardigans cake with chocolate cake and chocolate buttercream. I have a new edible image printer, never used, and itching to try it out. I'm scared the chocolate will change the colors of the icing image when placed on top of it. Any help or ideas are welcomed.

If the colors of the image are dark, then you should be okay. If not, you can always just smear some white BC where the image is going to be placed and put the image on that.
