Has Anyone Tried The "el Cheapo" Cake Supports?

I've seen them at Sugarcraft..they don't have the metal ring, like the ones that Earlene recommends..but are basically the legs that you can turn and adjust for height.
They are alot cheaper than the ones with the ring attatched. I was wondering if I should give them a go but thought I would check and see if anyone has used them first.
I usually use wooden dowels but have had some issues with those and wanted something more stable.
Thanks for any info you can give me!!
at pastry whiz.com there's the bakery craft delivery systems.
They have the push legs, pillarsand plates all in one kit. along with the boxes for delivery. Used them all the time when I worked at wallymart. They were very easy to use and to adjust the legs on them all you have to do is whack off the part that you don't want.
I don't know if that's the ones you were thinking of but those are the ones I am familiar with.
Never heard of those...these are like the legs on the ones Earlene recommends...you turn them to get the height you want and are reusable. No "whacking" required. ![]()
Here are the ones I am talking about...at the top
