Any ideas how to cover up a over cooked cake?
It's a pitty just to throw it away. icon_sad.gif

I would cut off the overcooked bits and then decorate it maybe even soak it in some simple syrup also to alleviate the dryness.

I experienced the same dilema some weeks ago.The cake looked more brownish, but did not smell as if burnt.CCers recommended brushing some syrup over it. It worked like a charm.

Yes,
The cake looks brownish like you said, and it do not smell burnt.
