Printing Images For Cakes????

This is my first time trying to decorate a cake. I'm not good at drawing but I'm interested in learning how to get an image on the cake and I saw something about printing images for cakes? I don't understand that can somebody please explain it to me. I'm very lost!!!

You would have to have a printer that is dedicated to printing edible images. The printer would use edible ink and print on frosting sheets. Go to www.kopykake.com to see what I mean. HTH

I just ordered an icing image for my sons birthday, and I'm making the cake my self do I have to put the image on a certain frosting, and how long can it be out for, do I need to refrigerate it or something?

Welcome to CC...very happy to have you icon_biggrin.gif

Images work best on butter cream icing. Apply the image before the icing crust and then smooth your icing as you normally would.

you can print your own if you have those kind of machines but if not you can always get it on ebay or from somebody else...

i ordered my first image from linda and it was great...it was the easiest cake i've made...i just placed the image on top of the fondant, put the accents and that's it

i can't wait to get my own printer
