I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I'm tired of baking for a while. I have family in town so for the last two weeks I've made: 3 apple pies, 1 banana cream pie, a batch of cream horns w/ espresso cream, lollipop cookies, coconut-pineapple cake and 3-d cars cake. They were all from scratch except the 3-d cake. I'm very tired now. I don't want to bake ANYTHING for a while. (Though I have to make a birthday cake next weekend for a friend.)
I have my last pie in the oven as we speak. I hope it turns out ok. Whenever I'm tired my baked goods don't turn out as good.
Anyone else going to take a baking break?
I wish I could say I have done too much..... HOWEVER I can't....thats ok though.... but I will be getting rid of all my character cake pans and yearbooks pretty quick....... I'm making room for other bigger cake toys in hopes to boosting my baking..... ![]()
Can't say as I'll ever tire of baking. Eating, however, I am bored with. We had Raman for lunchto give my taste buds a rest! The last batch of cookies I made is almost untouched, as is the leftover spaghetti which I would normally devour.
Baking is hard to tire of for me because I need the creative outlet. Plus the smells that fill the house, and the oven going gives a different kind of warmth than just the furnace. All I need is a maid to clean up after me, and I'd be set!
I'm a little burned out on baking, too. Plus, I could happily go another year without seeing another cake ball! I think I'm going to start working on improving my cheesecakes for a while, to pacify DH. He doesn't like cake very much, but cheesecake is a different story...
