I will be making MMF for the first time tomorrow. I want to make some of it hot pink, and a little more lime green, and then the rest of it white. Should I seperate it and then color it and then let it cool in the saran wrap?

Also, what color makes lime green? i can't find it in the store. Do you think I could make it out of Wiltons willow green or leaf green, just not using alot of it?

TIA ladies!!!

When I've colored MMF....I wrap and cool it first, then divide and color. I can't answer the green question. I use primarily Wilton colors...and would use a true green color with a little bright yellow added.

When I've done mine before, I've let it cool first. Then I've zapped it just a bit in the microwave to soften and added my coloring. That said, be careful...I burned my hand the last time because there was an especially hot pocket in the middle and I didn't realize it until it was too late!

I've read on previos posts that some people put their coloring in right away when making it. So I guess it's just a preference.

I'm not sure how to get lime green with the Wilton colors. I've found much better color selections since switching to the Americolors.

good luck!

well to answer your question about how to make the lime green. First color your fondant bright yellow then add just a couple drops of green (very small amount) and you should get a glorious lime green.

Some place I saw had a neon green which would be lime green. Go to www.google.com amd do a search for lime or neon green food coloring. That's all I know to do good luck. The persons idea with the bright yellow and green sounds good too.
