I think I've decided to go with a Minnie Mouse theme for DD's 3rd bday. I'm trying to nail down a design, though. I was thinking of doing a round cake in red with white polka dots. Then, put a half ball on top and frost it in black and make ears so it looks like Minnie Mouse. I would have to make cupcakes with it, though, since that wouldn't be enough. Would you do the same red with white polka dots or pink with a black Minnie Mouse shape?

Anyone have any other ideas? I have already searched the gallery.

Minnie is known for the red & white. red is sometimes hard to get a real red color without having a nasty taste. Pink might be easier to do. Good luck either way.

I know the red is a really hard color to get. I have heard, though, that you can start with a light chocolate frosting and then it's easier to get red. True?

I have seen Minnie in a pink dress with black polka dots, so you might try that, too.

I have done a mickey cake and all I did was frost the whole cake white and then I hand drew Mickey's face. Feel free to look at my pics to have a look.
