Found some at a new cake supply place...it's over an hour away from me, but sooo worth it! woo hoo.

I get to use it for a white chocolate gun that I have to make for a customer..she want me to tuck it in the lingerie that I'm making for her cake.

I got the rainbow disco dust ...it's pretty in the jar..lets' see what it does in RL

Hi RisqueBusiness...

I buy mine from Creative Cutters and I LOVE it! I have used it on several wedding cakes and the brides always ask for it! I let my icing crust ever so slightly then brush it on with a very fine paintbrush.

It is so beautiful under the lights at a wedding reception and really makes the cake!

(I hope we are talking about the same thing..... icon_confused.gif )

katy625, take a look in my photos--pretty much any cake you look at will have some form of disco/pixie dust on it. Most notable (or ones that you can see well) are the star wars cake where I dusted hologram pixie dust all over to simulate stars. The other is my princess crown and pillow cake. The crown is painted with clear gold pixie dust and the pillow is painted with a mixture of of purple luster dust and purple pixie dust.

I love the disco glitter as well -- it's wonderful. Does anyone order this off the i nternet? Currently, I'm ordering it from New York -- Scott (forgot his last name). He's a wonderful supplier -- but it never hurts to get a plan B. icon_smile.gif

Thanks!

I've bought my disco dust directly from a cake decorating supply store. They are pricey AU$9(US$7.10) per each tiny little pack but it goes such a long way and it looks beautiful!! I used black on the Gothic Fairy cake and green on the Christmas Tree cookies.
I will have to try that rainbow one Risque.

cheers
Nati

PS: Here is where you can get them online

I found that it didnt' stick to my chocolate so I used Pearl dust to dust the chocolate gun. I'm going to use the rainbow disco dust to do the little fondat circles that are supposed to look like little silver mirrors.

I'm going to try painting them silver first and then brushing them with the disco dust....

I got all the little silver dragees on the gun handle and muzzle..to look like a diamond encrusted revolver..

Tomorrow morn I will put the fondant on the cake then have all day to play with the underwear. well n ot mine..the cakes! lol

it looks like very small pieces of glitter the luster dust..is just that..dust, it's ground so finely

You can make disco dust stick to chocolate if you mix it with confectioner's glaze.
