Hi, I am new to this site but have a question. I would love to try to do the frozen buttercream transfer on my cakes except I only use the icing that is shortning, powdered sugar, vanilla, and water recipe. Does anyone know if this will freeze for the technique? Edee

I'n not sure that will work very well. I would use at least 1/2 butter 1/2 shortening for FBCT

Your all shortening icing will work just fine. That is what I use and have never had any problems. I do prefer to use plastic wrap versus parchment or wax paper.
