i'm out of time & options (unless i drive back to town & spend mega $$$)

here's the problem

i need a cake stand for a 12in cake, this is to be a wedding cake (12,9,6)so it needs to look nice, i bought a 17in wilton scrollwork stand, but i didn't realize that you can see through the cake plate (plastic & clear) so the cake really has to be the full width to use this one icon_sad.gif

please help me, it's due tomorrow & i still have so much to do!!

do you have any white craft paint? you could paint the underside of the stand so you cant see through it..... OR..... use white fondantand cut a cirle big enough to fit the cake stand... set the cake on that. no one will notice that. HTH. icon_biggrin.gif

Rolled fondant on the board is pretty, either just rolled flat to the size of the plate with a thin ribbon glued to the edge, or fondant folds, looks like gathered satin. Here is one by Gaynor Collingwood of Cakes Unlimited, the fondant board looks like draped fabric. Not sure this link will take you to individual cakes, it is page 3, next to the Hollywood cake, the all white with Lilies.
