Ok, So I have been up for days (my daughter is sick)and I am almost finished with my last cake. Just one problem. The top of the cake is a peice of colorflow. It is think and I don't know how to attach it. in the picture it is being supported by toothpicks. Also do i put in a border between the tiers? Its a Wizard of Oz/ The Wiz cake
thanks.

Will people view it from the back also? If not you could attach a lollipop stick with melted chocolate on the back and then stick it in the cake to hold it.

I agree with gannon on securing the top piece. as for the border..what about the flowers that make dorothe, the scarecrow, lion and tinman fall asleep as soon as they see the emerald city. you can do them in pink yellow and orange. on the sides of the yellow brick road as well as a border. I love the cake though...its such a creative way to show the wizard of oz.

For the topper, you should attach two lollipop sticks to the back using royal icing. I wouldn't recommend chocolate on colorflow. The sticks should poke as far down into the cake as possible for stability.

I think poppies as a border around the top tier is a great idea. I don't think you need one between the bottom and middle tiers.

This is a clever and beautiful cake. Great job!
