I'm confused between Color Flow and Royal Icing. What is the specific use for each one of them because they seem like they are interchangeable to me? Your advise is greatly appreciated!!

It's my understanding that Color flow and royal icing are pretty much the same thing. Color flow dries shiny whereas royal is more matte.

For some tasks, they are pretty much interchangeable. For example, for icing runout pieces (flat plaques that you can lay on a cake or prop up), you can use either. Color flow mix will make a harder, shinier piece, while RI mix will make a less hard piece , with a more satiny-textured surface.

I know you can add something (can't remember if it's cream of tartar, maybe) to the RI, you can get it to be more like colorflow.

I don't know how well colorflow mix would do for making RI-type flowers, as I have never tried it. I think you would probably want to use a bit less of the mix.
