I made some snickerdoodles this moring and I used the same recipe I always use but they didn't come out right. It's kinda hard to explain...Instead of rising up and then going down into a flat cookie shape they stayed pretty round. They look kinda like biscuits. They taste okay but I am wondering what went wrong? Any ideas?

Maybe something in your ingredients was old? Like the baking soda or powder or something? That has happened to me before and I think I went out and bought fresh baking powder or soda.

HTH!

I put cream of tartar in mine which is what I think make them rise.

Are you using a different brand of flour? Some are milled more finely than others and it can affect a recipe like that. Or maybe you used more flour than you think by accident? I've done it before.
