When you put 2 cake pieces together, to make a shape, do you "glue" them together with icing?

Thanks

Yes I would - are they next to or on top of each other?

Next to each other. I knew about using icing to fill if youre stacking, but I just realized that I wasnt sure if I should "fill" if theyre next to each other.

Side by side, I don't glue together. Attaching a piece to the top, I do glue just so the piece won't move around when I ice it.
