i'm gonna do a little dragon and tower cake for my daughter and sons bday, i want to kno how to make a dragon using a sheet cake, like cutting out pieces and making a 3d dragon. for the tower i was thinking of just taking a round cookie cutter, cutting out circles and then assembling them on top of eachother and then icing it.

I can't help you on the design but my suggestion would be to maybe ask Doug. He has come up with many wonderful designs and ideas for cakes, he may be able to help you.

Try using a round cake to assemble the dragon. Cut in half, put the two halves together and stand up - so you have a thick, standing half circle. Then, use cake scraps to form the neck, head, legs and tail.

I would NOT recommend stacking circles of cake. It will be VERY flimsy and hard to ice. Instead, consider cutting out circles of Rice Krispie treats, press to compact, then thread onto a wooden skewer. This will be very easy to ice and you can attach a sugar cone to the top of the skewer.
