I'm wondering what happened to my red roses I made for a cake that has to be delivered tomorrow. I used Americolor's "Super Red" I think is what it is called. Anyway, the edges of all the petals turned a darker color than the rest of the flower. I was wondering if I should make all new roses tonight to put on the cake or if the roses would be alright as they are. I didn't think to take a picture of them to post for you to see. Has anyone ever had this happen to them? icon_sad.gif

Without a pic it's hard to say....BUT....as my Wilton Instructor used to say "Nothing in nature is perfect!" I think the darker around the edges would add depth to the flower.

If you pay attention to roses as they wilt and pass on they turn a deeper shade of red on the edges... it's natural and sometimes they come like that when you buy them and they are still fresh. I'd leave it and let it go as long as it still looks nice. Nothing is ever perfect and even roses have flaws icon_smile.gif I agree the deeper color would make it look better anyway icon_wink.gif

I agree that it will add to the flower. You will be surprised on how many people will ask "How DID you do that?" thumbs_up.gif

Just smile sweetly and tell 'em "Trade secret!" icon_wink.gif

Thanks for your replies. I really didn't want to make more roses tonight so I will take your advice and use the ones I've already made. I will post a picture after I finish the cake tonight so you all can see and give your opinions.
