Is it even possible???

How much red color would I have to use? I used some Wilton red (no taste), plus some Christmas red, plus some Americolor red-red. My royal was still pinkish.

Someone else was just mentioning this on the cookie picture gallery and it made me think of my cookies. They're in my photos.

I mean the scarves on the snowmen cookies. They look more pinkish when you see them up close.

The dark red bell and candy canes are done w/MMF and it turned dark red without a problem.

I used two bottles of the Wilton no-taste red for one batch of royal icing. Don't use any water in the icing with that much red -- the color thins it out considerably. You can always adjust the water/sugar content later. And it will darken up by the next day too.

I replace the water in my recipie with Americolor Super Red. Also, let it set for a couple hours in an airtight container and it will darken.

With royal, I think I'd go with powdered color.
