I haven't tried to do one of these cakes yet. This is probably a dumb question but how do you get the top so level, my cup cakes are always overflowing and round on top. Do you cut the tops off or do you underfill the cups so they don' t get rounded tops??? If anyone could explain it I would appreciate it. Thanks
If you only put 1/4 cup of batter in your cupcake liner, it should rise just to the top of the liner & you shouldn't get a dome on your cupcake. I've made a couple of these cakes & they are a lot of fun and easy peasy.

I used the same tutorial that was posted. I filled my cups about 1/2 full though and let them overflow a bit, then as soon as they came out of the oven I sort of smashed them all down with my hand to make them level. Does that make sense??? I think the overflowing helps cut down the gaps inbetween. I did a bigger one yesterday, same picture, but I added some black swiss dots and orange sprinkles to it for a hayride I went to. It was a big hit!!!
