Out of the millions, why did it have to be me?!

My new KA's flat beater is hitting the bowl! I adjusted the screw like the manual said and it's still hitting the freakin' bowl! WHAT DO I DO NOW?!

As silly as this sounds-make sure the bowl is completely snapped down into place. I haven't gotten it completely down a couple of times and it hits. If it's not that just adjust the screw again!

Not just you. I have to adjust mine again. I am tired of my icing turning grey after beating it, especially my IMBC. Which needs to beat longer than the regular BC recipes that I have.

Nope still hitting. icon_cry.gif

And to add on to the problems . . .the DOUGH HOOK DOESN'T EVEN FIT!

I'm trying to remember what I did, it's been a while.

I think the silver thing in front where addtional attachments are added was loose and I tighten it and the problem solved.

Before I fixed it some of the coating on the beater came off and I had to get a new one.

sounds like you got a mismatched mixer! Mine doesn't really reach the bottom very well no matter how I adjust it but it doesn't hit. Maybe you got a paddle and dough hook that goes with a different size mixer.....

Call the place you bought it but they will more than likely tell you to deal with KA directly. I bought mine from Bed, Bath and Beyond and it could use a tune-up -- the book said to deal with KA directly.

If you've just bought it, I'd take it back and exchange it for a different one. That just doesn't sound right. Hope you sort it all out.

THANK YOU! EVERYTHING IS FINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called, the lady told me to push the pack down really hard, and it worked perfectly! The only problem now is that the bowl has scratch marks on it and the flat beater has the metallic finish rubbed off. . . icon_mad.gif

And that since I tampered with the screw, it won't be perfect anymore. . ."like when it came out of the factory".
