I am in need of lots of 4" cardboard rounds on a recurring basis and can't seem to find a source for buying them already cut. I am currently cutting out my own and have no interest in continuing to do so (even have the tool - which doesn't work so well) so please don't suggest that icon_smile.gif

Anyone know where I can get them?

Here's a couple:

I also found these ones that have a little tab for handling...

Those are 3.5" boards and they don't have 4"ers... also the ones with the tab don't work either. icon_sad.gif Thanks tho. Anyone else?

are these to place mini desserts (are they a visible base?) on or are to go under a 4" round cake tier? i use the 3.5" pre cut rounds under the 4" round tiers- since they are not visible, it doesnt cause issue for having such a minute size difference. have you checked a local cake supply store? one near me has all sizes from very small to very very large diameters. i am not sure if they ship though....good luck in finding them!

Yeah, I guess I should have specified. They are going under 4" cakes that will then go on a 6" final board. So the 3.5"ers don't give you any trouble for underneath a 4"? Wonder why its such an impossible size to find??!

I just spent almost an hour in Google trying to find a better solution for you than others have already posted. Looks like they don't exist in mail order. I think the 3.5 should work for what you need, otherwise you're going to have to cut them yourself....sorry....

no issues at all. i actually like them better than buying the "same" size rounds ...those ones always seem to need a quarter inch trimming anyway. so for me, i dont mind, and find they work just fine. though i dont put a super super thick outer layer of frosting. if your outer bc is thick and you need more board space, another thought is to buy the 4" rounds with tabs and just snip off the tab.

That's kind of what I was thinking, that they were intended for 4" cakes because of cake shrinkage. I almost always have to cut down my cardboards on stacked fondant cakes which is such a hassle!

Thanks all! I am going to order a pack of each (3.5" CB and 4" GB) and see which I like better.

Thanks Melysa, I am going to order from them since no one is open on Sunday to take my call and they have USPS shipping available from the website (other places wanted almost $20 to get 25 of these measly things to Alaska!)

wow! that high for shipping????!!!!???? its a few ounces! just out of curiousity, how much does intotheoven to send them to you? i didnt even think of that, but i imagine they are reasonable. when ever i order 20 lbs of fondant and other little things, i pay $11 to ship standard, not priority and i usually get it within 48 hours if i order in the early part of the day. i'm sure if will take a few more days since you are further, but they'll process it fast.

i'm glad you found what will work for you.

Depending upon the vendor, you can request that they use USPS Priority Mail service. USPS Priority Mail starts at $4.60 for up to two pounds weight (I am sure those circles do not cost nearly as much), and USPS provides the mailing containers! Not all vendors will stray away from their current delivery service.

I'm pretty used to it up here and if the vendor doesn't have the option on their site I will call to see if they will do it... but this company in particular is closed on Sundays and I'm an on-the-spot kind of girl so I went somewhere else icon_smile.gif

intotheoven charged me about $7 I think and I upped the order to three packs to make it a little more worthwhile. When I ship fondant direct from Satin Ice (in NY) the shipping basically doubles the price and thats UPS ground. I did check intotheoven and for one 20# bucket its about $37 because they will do postal. Can't beat Decopac with a $27 shipping cap!

My REAL biggest pet peeve tho is that UPS and FedEX used to not ship ground to AK, only 2 day and faster which is a HUGE difference in price. Now they do, yay. Problem is a LOT of companies don't have this updated on their sites so you can't choose it without calling... and I have had some places even argue with me about it on the phone. I'm like LOOK I live here, I know whats up, and you can even check it out on the shipper's websites grrr. There are some sites where you even have to go to the international portion to order to AK. Hellllo! Same COUNTRY here!! Oh well icon_smile.gif
