A ready made container of icing (chocolate) works too! icon_smile.gif

after experimenting, i figured anything liquid like liqueur, melted chocolate, cream, sweetened condensed milk etc based on what taste u would like to acquire for the cake balls....

i made choc-mint cake balls for xmas using choc cake crumbs, sweetened condensed milk and peppermint extract/creme de menthe

I experimented with some different things last weekend... orange juice, coffee, pineapple juice, banana flavored milk

I didn't really care for buttercream as a binder, personally...but really love sweetened condensed milk and melted caramels (or caramel topping). Yummmmmyyy!

Yes, I wanted to make banana cake balls dipped in chocolate, but didn't have any extract or bananas in the house, so I improvised... I did have banana flavored milk mix.

I used left over coconut pecan frosting from a german choc cake to make GC cake balls. I also used caramel icing left over from my last caramel cake and made caramel cake balls. Banana and choc sounds good, I'll have to try those.

What binder would go good with red velvet cake. First time making cake balls tomorrow. Hope they come out. Maybe condensed milk?
