I have been asked to make a Debbie Brown cake, it's the one from her 50 Easy Party Cakes book. It's a fondant cat sitting on top of a huge ball of yarn. I don't have time to run out and buy the book, it looks easy enough, sports ball pan, pyrex bowls, fondant through the clay gun, just wondering if anyone had some tips...especially for the fondant, clay gun part to make the yarn. Am I going to be wrapping these strings around the cake till the cows come home?

HELP!

Thanks in advance, Amy thumbs_up.gif

i have the book but my scanner is not working. it's called playful kitten and the only equipment listed: large rolling pin, sharp knife, and a small circle cutter. the instructions state:

to make the strands of wool, roll long, thin sausages of sugarpaste and stick over the cake with sugar glue. Apply six or seven strands right across the top of the cake, from the bottom all the way round to the base at the other side. cover the two remaining sides with diagonal strands which will leave a small triangle shape uncovered at the base. cover this with vertical strands. roll a few extra strands and stick them randomly over the cake.

hope this helps.
