I am very much an amateur at cake baking and decorating, and someone is asking if I could make them a skateboard ramp cake. Sounds difficult. Have any of you ever made one? I did see a few in the gallery...can anyone offer suggestions? Thanks for any input. icon_smile.gif

Shaped like a ramp? Will there be a skateboarder on top of it? My first guess (notice I said "guess") would be to make a sheetcake and cut it into three sections. Stand up the three sections with frosting in between to glue them together and cut out the curve. Use triangular pieces of the scrap cake to further support the ramp at the heaviest end.

If it were me, though, I'd make a sheetcake and draw a skateboard ramp and skateboarder on the cake.

If you have found one you like in the gallery, go to it and click on the posters name and then pm them about instructions. they will probably be very happy to help you with ideas. I would be if someone asked me.
