I had a problem and hoping someone can offer an answer......

On Thursday night I made a batch of RI for my cookies. I divided it into 4 bowls because I was using lime green, black, orange and purple. I flooded all my cookies and let them dry over night. When I got up to decorate my purple, back and orange dried tacky. I did all my decorating and let the cookies dry during the day. The ones that dried tacky I couldn't bag because they would stick to the bag.

Any ideas why 3 of the colors would dry tacky and the green would be perfect? All the colors were AmeriColors and everything was done the exact same way. I was so upset because these cookies were to be given as a party favor and I could only wrap the green ones. Thank goodness my client didn't get mad.

Did you thin out the colors for flooding after they were already seperated? If you did then those four colors might have had more liquid in them and just needed some more time.

You have to make sure your bowls and all of the utensils are squeaky clean. I usually wipe mine with vinegar before I use them for RI. Even if there is a little bit of anything in your bowl (whether you can see it or not) it will cause it to not set properly.

Every bowl and spatula was squeaky clean...
Once the batch of RI was made then I dividied it into 4 bowls, mixed the colors then I took a little out of each bowl and put into anohter bowl to thin it out more so I could flood.
