First Wedding Cake - Successful Delivery
Decorating By Karenelli Updated 19 Dec 2006 , 1:26am by sweetamber
First I want to thank everyone that helped me with the ideas for creating snowflakes. So many people here are soooo talented helpful. I made both royal icing and fondant snowflakes, not knowing which I would use and ended up having mega leftovers. Since the cake was covered with fondant I practiced placement on styrofoam so I wouldn't be making unnecessary holes in the cake. Anyway, after all is said and done and the 1 1/2 hour ride to Cape Cod to set up, all went well. Oh, one thing, I did not realize that I should have brought a box for the top of the cake for the bride and groom to take home. Luckily, the hall said they would take care of it for me. Are there any other things we, as new decorators should know about setting up and delivering. I can never attach my pictures, so please check out my cake and please critique it. All comments welcome. It is the snowflake topped cake. This is just the start for me and I appreciate everyone's input.
Your cake is gorgeous you should be very proud of yourself!!
All your cakes are GORGEOUS- it's no surprise that your first wedding cake is no different. Stunning work, I never would have thought it was your first! So happy everything turned out so well for you!
I love the design you piped on the sides- did you have a pattern to work from or was it all "in your head" so to speak?
