I'm doing a cake today, and as a last minute choice, I may do it in buttercream instead of fondant (I've only really worked with fondant unless it was a "rustic cake" that didn't have to be smooth). I've searched this site for recipies, but I often hear of crusting buttercream, which I couldn't find. Now, it doesn't have to be crusting, but I am looking for the best buttercream recipie I can find. What's you opinion? And any tips for a great looking cake while you're at it? Thanks a bunch!
