You could do the whole cake in the shape of a Hap Arnold. Google it for a pic if you don't know what that is. It's pretty much the symbol for the AF. I think it'd be pretty cool and if you wanted to incorporate the rank still you could do a bunch of little BC transfers of it around the sides.

This would be an easy chocolate transfer. Make the background and add the details on the top for this. She will graudate in her blues, so stick to blues instead of camo cakes. Will you be going down there, or is she coming home? If you're going down there, it would be great if you could also invite those who dont have friends or family at the graudation to celebrate as well. It would be appreciated, I'm sure!

I understand that you want to make the cake in the shape of the E-2 insignia right? You can print out an image and enlarge it into a template and use that to carve a sheet cake. You could also just freehand the shape out of a sheet cake. It looks relatively easy to do. Just make sure when you actually do the design you measure the dark blue and white stripes evenly! Are you going to cover it in bc or fondant?

I would also suggest if you have some white edible glitter that you use that on the cake. It really enhances the design. I use it on pretty much all my military cakes! I also would suggest using a star tip to cover the entire cake unless you can make the two different colored icings baby bottom smooth!!!!! To me covering a shaped cake such as this with multiple colors has a more uniformed (no pun intended icon_rolleyes.gif ) appearance if it is done with a star tip. Just make sure you keep the stars consistent in size.

Okay, you probably didn't need to know all THAT! Sorry, I get carried away when it comes to questions about military cakes!
