How much fondant will I need to cover a 14", 10", and 6" cake as well as a 16" cake board (one inch thick)? My batches of fondant have 2lbs of sugar in them. I have made 3 batches and am not sure that will be enough or too much. What do you think?
Thanks for the help.

Hi,

I use earlenes chart and you will need approx 10lbs to cover the 3 tiers and you should have enough leftover to cover the board. Here is a link to her chart. Usually as a guide for tiers thru 10-12" you actually use half the fondant you need (you need extra when covering). The larger the tier the more of the fondant it will take. So you have to recalculate that into the amount you need.. so you don't make to much and have waste. This chart is good because it tells you how much you need and how much you actually use. I hope this helps. icon_smile.gif
