I live in "high altitude" and follow the cookie recipe (chocolate chip, sugar, oatmeal...whatever), however, I am finding I can not for the life of me get soft cookies....any ideas?

I live in colorado and i used to follow the directions for high altitude and found that my cakes, cookies etc where dry. I no longer follow high altitude on any recipes and no longer have that problem. My cakes ,cookies etc are moist and taste great also. Believe it or not I have not a had a cake fall yet. I am in the same boat as you with the high altitude. I have found that if you modify the recipe by cutting the sugars by 2TBLS each, cut the baking soda in half maybe a little less, and cut the butter by 11/2TBLS and double the chocolate chips you have a great soft cookie. Good luck
