any interesting tips or facts using cake stencils verses making your own stencils

I don't but I would like to see what everyone else thinks! I have two baptism cakes to do for next sunday and was thinking about using a stencil! I have never done it before and I am just starting so I have been wrecking out the computer and this site, trying to find simple but great ideas!

you mean pre made stencils or using mylar and a hot pen and cutting your own?
I have done both..
I used to do the stencils to make portrait cakes. and have used stencils for around my cakes...
I use a little gel colorants with a little alcohol and make up sponges to apply
